Ok - heard from the Asst. DA this morning. The hearing on Thursday is actually a formal notification called a Magistrate's Warning. Essentially they bring the juveniles into court and advise them that the Juvenile Division of the court is requesting to turn the case over to adult court. Essentially it's just a legal formality that is required to move forward. Once that's done they can schedule the actual adult certification hearing, which should be next week. Once again, she said that she can't see any way that this won't proceed to adult court. Once the hearings are over, and it is moved to adult court, it will be a couple of days before we know exactly which court the cases land in. We'll cross our fingers and hope that everything is somewhat settled by the end of next week...
