I guess it's time for an update... The arraignments that were supposed to happen this week, once again did not. BUT it was explained to me that they more than likely wouldn't happen at all. The purpose of the arraignments is to let the detained individuals know WHY they are being detained, and there is no question of that in this case. Bringing them into court to state the obvious just means that they have to transfer them from the detention center, into court, and back, and they try to minimize the movement of criminals, which is understandable.

My case was assigned to a different Asst. DA this week. It's the same lady that worked on the Clara Harris trial, so I know she's worked on some cases with much higher profiles than mine. She was really nice when we talked earlier this week. She had just gotten the big box with everything from my case in it, was going to go through it and get back to me either today (which I'm doubting) or early next week.

So it boils down to the fact that we're just going to be waiting... for AWHILE. There is nothing quick about this...

That's really all there is to update on. Work is good. Vehicle is still in the shop. Still driving big red. Pancheaux and I are settled into our new living arrangements. And I'm smiling a lot lately :o)
